TWO DATA CENTERS IN KUNA?

We were blindsided by the first Data Center that has already been built. There's another one in the works that is cloaked in media secrecy.

Kuna, Idaho is home to a massive $800M Meta Platforms Inc. Data Center spanning 960,000 square feet near Cole and Kuna Mora Roads. A second major 620-acre project called the Gemstone Technology Park near Locust Grove and Barker Roads is moving through local zoning and planning approvals amid local discussions regarding energy demands. Industry data suggests the Meta facility may use 400,000–600,000 gallons per day, especially during summer cooling.

HJR 4 WILL BE ON NOVEMBER'S BALLOT:

HERE'S MORE INFO ON WHAT IT'S REALLY ABOUT

This November, there will be a measure on the ballot that attacks our ballot-initiative rights. The measure is called HJR 4, and it was placed on the ballot by the Idaho Legislature during last year’s session. The measure would prohibit Idaho citizens from using the initiative process to legalize marijuana or other controlled substances.

This measure is not just an attempt to stop marijuana initiatives; it is an attack on the ballot-initiative process itself and the right of Idaho citizens to make their own decisions.

If the legislature can take away our right to decide on marijuana, they can take away our right to decide on any other issue—whether it be education policy, healthcare policy, or anything else. Every Idaho citizen who believes in the ballot-initiative process should vote NO on HJR 4.

New report finds tax cuts benefit highest-income Idaho households most

In this campaign season, ask your legislators and candidates for office:

  • Why did 73% of the tax cuts go to the top 20% of earners? Was that the intended outcome, and if not, what will you do differently?

  • A median-income family got $453 back while a top-1% household got $20,000+. Do you think that's a fair trade-off?

  • You cut budgets for schools, universities, and health services while sitting on $1.3 billion in rainy-day funds. Why draw down services instead of reserves?

  • College tuition went up after university funding was cut. Did you anticipate that, and do you consider that an acceptable outcome?

  • Low-income Idahoans are now paying more in taxes overall. How do you explain that?

  • The total value of these tax cuts exceeds everything Idaho spends on K-12, higher ed, and health and human services combined. Does that reflect your values?

  • The child tax credit was allowed to expire. Why was that a lower priority than income tax cuts that primarily benefited the wealthy?
