PROTECT THE VOTE!

For people that care about elections and voting rights, please join the League of Women Voters of Idaho’s coalition to fight further voter suppression.

The League of Women Voters of Idaho is partnering with Vote Riders for paying for documents that people need to get an Idaho ID to be able to register to vote. The League will be holding ID doc clinics. If you know of people who are in need of this assistance, please contact vote411idaho@gmail.com.

Toxic Substances Control Act

Congress is trying to undermine the Toxic Substances Control Act that protects communities and families from dangerous chemicals that can end up in our air and water and in our household products, like furniture, luggage, and electronics.

PFAS “forever chemicals” can linger in the environment for thousands of years, accumulate in our bodies, and are linked to decreased fertility, liver damage, thyroid problems, cancer, and more.

SEND A MESSAGE TO CONGRESS

PFAS chemicals are EVERYWHERE—in things like stain-resistant carpets and upholstery, nonstick cookware, food packaging, and even clothing, like rain gear and even school uniforms.

Why is Congress trying to undo existing protections? They are currently trying to codify EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin’s approach to toxic chemicals, which includes undermining the science of risk evaluation, ignoring decades of research, and loosening industry requirements. All this means our uniquely vulnerable children will experience more exposure to PFAS and other chemicals.

Now’s the time to demand chemical safety and tell Congress not to touch the Toxic Substances Control Act.

Far-Right Group to Indoctrinate Idaho Students

Governor Brad Little and Debbie Critchfield (Idaho Superintendent of Public Instruction) have formed a partnership to bring a billionaire-funded, far-right political group (Turning Point USA) into every Idaho high school. Idaho students deserve better than to be used as props in a political recruitment scheme. They deserve schools where everyone is truly welcome.

Speak Up: Remind our elected officials that public schools belong to the public—not to billionaire-funded outside political interest groups. And have your high school start a BABE VOTE Chapter to counter the misogynist, hate-filled, faux-debate rhetoric of Charlie Kirk's legacy.

“The hypocrisy of this partnership is staggering. While the Governor issues a formal proclamation endorsing TPUSA’s recruitment efforts, Idaho schools have become increasingly hostile toward messages of genuine inclusion. We can all remember when a public school teacher was forced to remove a poster that simply stated “Everyone Is Welcome Here,” featuring hands of various skin tones with  hearts.

“It is shameful that in Idaho, a message of basic human kindness and inclusivity is deemed 'too political' for a classroom, yet the Governor is hand-delivering a platform to a group whose own 'resource library' is filled with divisive and egregious messaging,” the statement continued. TPUSA’s materials frequently target educators and promote a narrow, exclusionary version of "patriotism" that ignores the diverse reality of Idaho’s student body.

This move by the Governor and Superintendent proves that their concern isn't about removing politics from schools—it’s about ensuring only their politics are allowed."

Calls About War Crimes

Call the local offices of Rep. Simpson, Rep. Fulcher, Sen Risch and Sen. Crapo and leave a message:

Hello, my name is ________ and I live in _________. (You can leave your address or phone number or email if you want a response.)

I’m calling to urge [Representative/Senator Name] to immediately contact the President and advocate for the protection of civilian lives and infrastructure. The destruction of essential systems like bridges, power plants, and water facilities would have devastating humanitarian consequences and risks violating international law.  These are war crimes.

Please ask him to use their voice and leadership to prevent further harm and uphold the protection of civilians.

Thank you and I would like a reply.
